GGTP students enjoy a wide range of intellectual and collegial opportunities.

The Annual Retreat of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology is held each fall in a luxurious New England resort. The Annual Retreat spotlights the research of faculty, students, and researchers both within the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology as well as invited guests and trainees from the Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Biology and Organismic and Evolutionary Biology. Interspersed between research presentations are extracurricular activities, including intramural volleyball with select faculty members, logic-testing scavenger hunts, and informal socials in a beautiful natural setting.

The Thursday Speaker Series, a longstanding tradition, invites distinguished scholars from across the United States and around the world to speak on a variety of topics interesting to the GGTP community. Click here for a list of recent and upcoming speakers.

Students meet monthly over dinner for self-guided Journal Club discussion sessions that pursue a variety of topics and issues of special interest to trainees in the GGTP program, drawing from current scientific publications.
